US Olympic Committee sues the IISOH in Federal Court to drop the word "OLYMPIC" from our name
We have been sued by the United States Olympic Committee.

Tell us your opinion - should we fight or change our name?
The IISOH has been sued in US Federal Court (Williamsport, PA, the Middle District of Pennsylvania) over the use of the word "OLYMPIC" in our name. We have responded to the Complaint with a MOTION TO DISMISS on several legal grounds.
A hearing was held with a Federal Magistrate Judge and a trial has been tenatively scheduled for April 2011. What do you think? Should we fight the US Olympic Committee over this issue or should we simply change our name? Send an email or blog online at a news outlet such as the CENTRE DAILY TIMES, USA TODAY, PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER or elsewhere.

Meanwhile if we decide to fight the issue further we really would like to have an attorney in Pennsylvania represent us. If you are an attorney and can represent us pro bono - please contact us.

INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE for 2010
INTERNS WANTED
August - December, 2010
The IISOH is seeking up to 50 interns for the fall semester to assist with advertising, marketing, public relations, fundraising, grant writing, collection development, web site and social network development, research and organizational operations. Students can earn from 1-3 credits at their university through programs sponsored by their college or departments. See your advisor or department chair for details. At Penn State University the College of Communications, the Smeal College of Business and the College of Liberal Arts have added the IISOH to their Intern program lists. We have student interns at other Pennsylvania universities and interested students from Romania and Israel. Read more on our INTERNSHIP page.
