ARCHERY ENDOWMENT & ARCHERY COLLECTION
The IISOH is seeking $1 million (one million Dollars) from a benefactor
in order to establish a permanent endowment for the sport of
ARCHERY

CASH DONATIONS:
This is a naming opportunity for the benefactor to have a perpetual identification with the sport of ARCHERY.
The endowment would be named by the benefactor with the approval of the IISOH Board of Directors.
The funds will be placed into a trust fund with only the quarterly earned interest used to develop the ARCHERY collections
in both the Library and Museum.
Of course -- cash donations IN ANY AMOUNT are always welcome.
Any donation -- in any amount -- can be designated for the Archery endowment.
Donors receive varying forms of recognition for their generosity.
Naming rights the endowment is reserved for the million dollar donor.

NON-CASH DONATIONS:
The IISOH Library and Museum eagerly accepts donations of material that are within the scope of its collections.
Collectors are encouraged to send us books, monographs, theses & dissertations, magazine and subscription collections for the library,
as well as antique archery equipment, medals, pins, posters, artwork, memorabilia and collectibles for the Museum.
LIBRARY donations:
- Material in ANY language, including but not limited to English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portugese,
Flemish, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, Latin, Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, Serbo-Croatian, Hebrew, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese,
Farsi, Sanskrit and dozens of others. The scope of the collection is international and comprehensive.
- Books, Monographs, Theses & Dissertations

- Bound and unbound serials (magazines, journals, etc), Newspapers (hard copies or microfilm)
- Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Reference books, Juvenile literature

- Manuscripts, Archives of organizations, Original letters of correspondance
- Maps, Ephemera (pamphlets, booklets, folders, flyers, tickets, etc).
MUSEUM donations:
- ARCHERY Posters, Paintings, Serigraphs, Drawings, Graphics, 16th - 19th century lithographs & prints

- Antique ARCHERY equipment, Uniforms, clothing, textiles, fashions
- Statuary in bronze, resin, plaster, terracotta, etc.
- Photographs, prints, negatives, glass plates, films,
movies, videos, dvd's, especially older films in need of archival preservation

- ARCHERY-related medals, awards, trophies, commemorative medals, participation medals, badges, pins, flags, banners, advertising or
any Archery-related memorabilia
- Philatelic items, stamp collections, illustrated postcards and Numismatic items, coins, exonumia
- Physical education, recreation and play equipment related to ARCHERY
- Games, especially antique items

- Musical scores and sheet music related to archery and the stories of William Tell and Robin Hood.
These lists are not comprehensive and are limited only by your imagination!
Keep in mind that ARCHERY is an international sport
and that we seek everything, in every language, in order to develop the most comprehensive collection in the world.
Archery is one of the oldest sports in mankind's history. Used as a weapon in warfare for millenia, used as a tool for hunting wildlife
and game for food, archery as a sport dates from the earliest times in history such as England's tales of Robin Hood,
and
Switzerland's tales of William Tell.
English archers were famed for their longbows and defeated a much larger French army at
the famed battle of Agincourt in 1415. Archery is practiced world-wide and is one of the sports on the program of the modern Olympic Games.
